bFaaaP Open Source Project
Project status
Last updated: September 2026
A volunteer-based open-source project
Shishido & Associates supported bFaaaP until September 2026. From here on, bFaaaP is carried by volunteers: people who build, mend and answer in their own time.
What stays — free, and for good
- The complete open repository — build guides, schematics, firmware, CAD and bills of materials
- GitHub Discussions, open and run by volunteers
- The YouTube channel, and the preprint arXiv:2608.00633 (CC BY 4.0)
- The licences (Apache-2.0 / CERN-OHL-W-2.0 / CC-BY-4.0) — build, adapt, publish and sell as before
- The royalty-free patent licence for inclusive uses, unchanged
The founder is no longer involved.
Decisions happen in Discussions and pull requests — nobody answers personal email or DMs, and you
need nobody's permission to build, adapt or fork it. AI-assisted Support
ended in 2026 and is kept only as a record.
Answers in Discussions are written by volunteers in their own time. They can take weeks, and they may not come at all. Safety, electrical work (24 V) and local regulations are your own responsibility.
